Heres a lil tip for squeezing more bandwith from your internet connection. It  works for Windows 2000 and XP Pro. Vista, Idk. I'm not touching it.   lol
Click on Start then on run. Type in gpedit.msc    This opens the group policy oject  editor for the computer. Follow the path as illustrated below.
Administrative templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler. double click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth then enable it and set it to 0. By default, in it's  not configured state, it is holding back 20% of the speed of your connection. Part of the description is in the pic.  Cool

That is GREAT info TK. Do you know if it works for XP Home.  I tried to run the script and it said it was invalid.  I guess I got my answer. If you know a way to do this for the Win XP Home edition, PLEASE let me know.  Or Does the home edition not limit your bandwith?  a 20 % boost in speed would make my whole month.  Grin Grin Grin

Check out this link to enable on Win 2000/XP

http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-1035_11-1059493.html

However the QoS folder is not in Network folder

Jamie

Edit: Group Policy editor is not available in XP Home see link:

http://www.geocities.com/kilian0072002/GPEditHome.htm

But it can be with the right files, a bit techie and may  not work
