Just ran into problems with Lag again, so decided to post this here also:

Dust is a major problem for PC's and Graphics!!! If you are having problems with your games lagging, Look at the tip about Lag that is posted in the Deer Hunter 2005 Board, and get your PC running smooth again!

I have 3 Cats and the dust and cat hair slows my Graphics down to almost a stand still every 3-4 months!

People,
This is a VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE!  I can't stress this enough!  I just cleaned the dust out of the fins of my processor and jumped from 4 fps to 55 fps!

This does work, especially if you are running Pentium 4 Processors!

Hag,
Do they sell electronically safe compressed air at " best buy" or should I check at the hardware store.

thnks Vic,
Thnks for the help the other night too.  I found the graphics card I'm going with.  Newegg saved me almost $15. I'm gonna shop there from now on.

p.s. I wish the Bears would give Lovie Smith back to my Rams.

Sorry Kent,  Missed your post somehow. Not sure if Best Buys sells it. The link below is probably the best price for ordering online, but there is a $7.95 Shipping fee. If you are buying in bulk, it is not bad though.
Also it is recommendable to have your PC off for atleast a half hour before using Compressed air, as some of it uses a refridgerant or coolant as the prepulsion method, and the fast temp change could cause damage.

Holy crap,
I cleaned my cpu when I changed my video card a couple days ago. What a mess. I can't believe how much dust was in there.

An easier way to minimize the amount of dust that gets let into your cp, is to put pantyhose around all your fan openings. You may have to replace the pantyhose or at least clean it off every week or so, so that it doesnt get clogged with dust. Works great and keeps your valuable components cleaner for longer. Try it, you will be surprised.

Wouldn't it be easier to get rid of the cats?

I just use the air compressor, make sure ya turn the pressure down to approx 20 psi first... and don't spray the fan too long, sure it's fun to see em whirl, but it's hard on the bearings.

hag is right this is a serious issue. if you heat sinc(fins) on ur cpu gets covered with dust it will cause ur cpu to over heat and become damaged. aslo try to clean ur fans off. the power supply fan and cpu fan. or they will stop working and ur comp will over heat. this is also dangerous to ur memory. keep them clean also.  but keep it in mind that if you are a lil kid u shouldnt do this without an adult. u can shock urself or cause damage to any of the chips in the computer if u touch them without first grounding urself. also if u use one of the air cans. make sure not to tip it or liquid will come out and that would not be good.
