There was no bullet cam when you used the cheat because you were too close. I think it needs a minimum of 5yrds before it activates. Use the 30 06 and  7mm for long range kills. Also a lil tip, hover the mouse over the weapon you are using in the weapons customize. It will give you a brief explanation of the ballistics. High energy rounds are best for long distance kills. The .338 however, looses it's accuracy and power over  150m away, or something like that

Yeah I had meant to select the .30-06 but mis-clicked. I knew I wanted a bullet for medium or long range. Smile
I don't cheat when I am hunting for real. I jumped on a test profile and used the cheat just to see if I could find the problem, and I did. It's all working perfect now. I'm taking bucks down in one shot with ease from different distances. Smile (and getting the cam most of the time)

I've been getting good heat shots but I'm not sure why the deer still run a short distance before dropping.

Close shots are not required, I shoot and get one shot, bullet cam kills all the tome at 250 yds. You did not say which weapon/cal. you are using, I use te 7mm mag with 208 yd. zero. Very Happy

It works for just about any round, on a gun. I usally shoot the deer unexpectedly, or while thier running far away the bullet  cam shows, well good luck mudtrout!

Blackbart,

I mentioned up there somewhere that I had a .30-30 equipped when I had meant to equip the .30-06. That was the problem. It just didn't have the power to drop the deer. I use a custom bolt-action rifle calibrated at 262. I can confirm now too that long distance shots also show up cam. I'm some glad I found the problem because hunting is a lot smoother and watching the shots on bullet cam is sweet. Smile

Thanks again for all the responses, folks!

I got my first WR (Axis) last night. XD

Here's another question though. I received a gold skin for the rifle but I can't seem to find it. Where is it?

I'm sort of new to this. Razz I just started this game about a week ago. Until I did some googling and found this site I didn't even realize there was so much detail to it. It ought to have come with a manual explaining things in more detail, like how a rating can go up and down depending on what you're shooting. Or how you need to use a more difficult weapon to advance a score. XD

Perhaps I'll participate in one of your hunts once I get it all figured out.

Make sure you have hit both arowws at the Circle Ball, to find the gold one. Make sure you click on to a rifle, and then go through the circle color balls at the bottom right corner of the details.

In your weapon customization module, You will find the Gold Skin for the weapon you received it on. The skins are in the lower right of the window. Click left or right till you find it. You will only have it for the weapon you were currently hunting with at that time. There are 14 skins in all to earn. Once earned you get the most pretitious trophy of all, the All Gold Weapon Skin trophy. Congratulations on the W/R! Please feel free to post it for all to see.

You can show your trophy here, by going to a image host website, then get the IMG code and paste it on a post in the DH2005 Bragging Room. Very Happy

The 30/30 is useless, the .207 is even more useless. If you ever try for the "gold weapon skin trophy" you will see what I am talking about
