Does anyone have a tutorial for the map editor? Preferably a video link. The help link within the editor gets hard to understand like: If you cant see the map, press the home button. Do they mean the home key on the keyboard? Because that didnt work. Anyways, thanks! One last thing: does the map editor work properly on windows 8?

You are correct in as much as the Home button is he home key on your keyboard.
But make sure you are in navigation mode (Space Bar ) before you can move about on the map.
And space bar again ( Out of navigation mode) to use the tool bars.
There have been some problems encountered with the editor on Vista and Win7 that can be overcome by running the game and the editor in administrator mode. It is also a good idea to check compatibility issues as well.
This can be done by right clicking on your start Icon and selecting "run as administrator."
Then right click again and select " troubleshoot compatibility"
Do this for both the game and the level editor.

I dont know anyone running Dh2005 or its editor on Win8.
I spent about four hours trying to install it on my brother in laws .. Win8.1.. and could not even get it to install.
He had it running on win7 but upgraded his O/S to 8,1 and couldnt get the game to run.

Let us know if you have any success.

Great to hear you have DH2005 running on win 8. and that you have patched to 1.2  and installed the Hybrid patch successfully.

In order to make standard DH 2005 maps, you will need to remove the Data folder from your game.
The Data folder contains all the information that allows you to use the DH2004 models in the editor.
But it is not in the editor itself but stored in the Data folder in the DH 2005 Game folder.

To make a hybrid map or play a hybrid map you will need the data folder installed in the DH2005 game folder.
It is IMPORTANT that if you make a hybrid map .. that you mark it as a hybrid.. clearly on the Loading screen ( LoadingBG,png) so it is clear what patch is required.
You can delete the data folder, Or cut and paste it to a temporary holding place and copy and paste it back into the game folder any time.
Or you can simply reinstall it using the installer in the patch download.
Make sure you remove only the folder and not the red circular Icon with the triangle .. also named data. That contains all the models and codings for the standard game.
I have included a pic with the Data folder circled and the file path to the game folder underlined in red.
If you need any more help with map making, feel free to post at any time and either myself or one of our other map makers will be more than willing to help you.

Most of all have fun and remember we would love to host your maps on site here.
