When I create the particle  for my waterfall mist. When I add the object to the game the mist it is just squares flooding around. I was wondering how to fix this problem.

Thank you.

When the .par file is added to the map it is an object
to make it work in your map it must contain the right path in the .par file such as

Texture        = CustomLevels\"Your map name"\Particles\"name".tex; or
Texture        = CustomLevels\"Your map name"\"name".tex

depending where you placed the .par files and textures is where the path should look
.par files can be edited with notepad and re saved with your maps parameters.

The particle files look like a blue cube in the editor but in game they will be seen as puffs of vapour. That is normal.

If you load them from the editor sample level file they will not work unless the sample level folder is in the custom level folder.
With vista and win7 the DHT viewer will not work if there are any folders in the custom level folder, so vista and win7 users take it out and often forget to put it back.

Classic case here.......http://www.hagadoo.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2384

To overcome that small problem you will have to make a folder, name it Whatever you like and copy the files needed to this folder from the sample level 'particle' folder, then rename those files as  lucky has indicated and put the folder in your map folder.

you will need...
Waterfall_myst,..... open it with notepad and change the filepath.

You will also need to copy these three files. but no need to edit or rename..
vapour.tex
vapour.png
Vapour.alpha

Then go to the par files in the editor and load the ones with your custom particle folder name.

Finally take out the sample level folder, save it so you can put it back in later, and run the map to check your custom par. files are working.

I'm not sure about that but My map "Treeline Mountain"  Which I didn't check the RFX in it, It had the Sample level Rfx which is quickly remedied by putting the Rffx from any of the stock maps for the game but I believe it has the sample par files.

Gas it is the particle files , I remedied with the following:  I made a new folder in my custom levels and named it SampleLevel I then
went to where I had the SampleLevel stored and copied the particle folder  then pasted that in the new folder in my custom Levels
the Trophy Viewer works fine with out the whole SampleLevel folder in the Custom levels and the map plays great.  I am sure there are
other fixes but I always change the path for my particles to my own map before I create it and everything will work proper.
