Dont worry Vic.

These days a n $800.00 off the shelf computer will run dh2005 in excess of 40/fps on ultra.

But both Jimbo and myself are still struggling along with units that wont even do that on medium settings so we are very well aware of frame speed issues and ground object densities.

So while I use Ground objects ( Dynamics ) quite liberally, on 'low' settings they dissapear entirely and do not therefore affect frame speeds.
Most of my maps these days are constructed with equal proportions of open ground and medium density woods so that every one can enjoy hunting the way that suits them best.
The Pohaka River map is pretty much a typical example.

It is interesting to see recently  that there was a intense discussion in 'The Hunter " forums about the ethics of turning settings to low, during competition hunting, and an even more intense disscussion about the use of the tents for hotloading.
(Spawn Mashing is the new term they use.)

It would appear that very little changes , but as a mapmaker I have reached the stage where I dont give a damn what anyone does anymore.

Hopefully my maps will satisfy those who want heaps of eyecandy and 'challenging' hunting, as well as those of us who are still 'challenged' by poor performance issues.

Cheers.

Dan I don't know what I said wrong to piss you off,, but let me tell you that the ground objects have not effect on the way I hunt or the results I would have every hunt, I've lost a child in the past year and this game is the least of my concerns I play to pass the time ok so don't go jumping on my back cause I made a innocent comment about my fps if I had the ground objects on ultra but if you makes you happy I'll hunt every week from now on on ultra ground objects to pacify you ok bud!

As usual Vic you have not read and understood my reply in the way it was intended.

I am Not pissed off with you, I was letting you know that I am aware of the difficulties of low frame speeds and that
I am doing my best to cater for everyone.
I took your comment as a serious concern and tried to set your mind at rest.

So stop being a wally and either get on with the hunting or not. Dont go looking for arguments where none exist.

Think and say what you want Vic.

You have made your prescence felt

You are way past any help I can offer.

Just get your entries in and pin Rons ears to the wall.

I'm done.
