Guys and Gals:

I still have the CD and have tried to get it to work with Vista and Dx11.

No dice. The game locks up and my mouse ceases to work just in setting up my hunter.Total lockup...not even Task Manager will display and I have to dump the entire system and reboot.

Am I just wasting my time with this computer...or missing something very important.

I always enoyed TH3 back in the old days and would like to have a go at it again as a change of pace from the Hunter.

Appreciate your feedback in advance.

Mine runs fine in Vista. I play the hunter all the time and have all the required software which I think includes DX 11.

I loaded the disc and ran the game soon as I read your post. Its permanently installed in my com, along with DH2004, DH 2005 and Deer hunter 3.

Right click on your desktop Icon, go to properties and set the compatibility mode to run in windows xp  and also a good Idea to set it as " run as administrator" while your in there.

The other thing that may be happening is that your anti virus might be baulking at game spy ...so set that as an exception in your firewall, or if you aint gonna play online  uninstall game spy altogether..

Mickey: googled to find the patch with no luck.Do you have a link?

Dan: when set for XPSP2 option, I get a C++ runtime error, crashing the program.

Still stuck.

The TH2003 1.1 patch is in our download section under patches, the last one in the section. It may be all that is needed to fix the problem.
Let us Know .

First Thing .. have you got the right patch , double check name and version number. It should be Trophy Hunter 2003  1.1patch.
If that is correct then I suggest you uninstall the game and install again, then patch it to the new install.
If for any reason you cant uninstall from the CD go to
start
Control panel
Programs and features
Find it on the list , click on it to highlight it and uninstall from there.

I had a similar problem with DH 2004 and my computer telling me it wasnt installed when it was already..
So I just uninstalled and reinstalled again and that fixed it.
Maybe it is a Vista problem.
Hope it works for you.
