Yesterday I was very busy and I have readed only today the post. And I didn't know how to post the dht, but today I had the idea of using the Stamp button! Very Happy
Sure, here he is. Pic and Dht. I had a WR 258 pounds too, but was at only 40 yards... Laughing Smile
But believe me, for your health.... never try to do that! Laughing
Sometimes I thought to use my real double barreled shotgun against that buck...
He died after more than one hour!

Great buck and great distance DeerKillers!

Guess that settles the "not possible at 250 yards" enigma.  Laughing

Im just curious how you even hit the deer that far.  I spent 2 hours at a target range and the sabot never reaches the target at 250 yds.  The sabot is also the most unaccurate round on the game too, it never shoots straight[b]

I was curious also Mickey, so I made a map with a 50x50 foot paper target and put 2 fake deer in front of it.  With the spotting scope on 248 yards the slugs will penetrate the target 10-15 feet all around the deer, so you have to be extremely luck to hit one.  I did manage to kill deer at 249 yards spotting at 248, but I could not penetrate a target at 249 yards. DK was exceptionally lucky to have one come in at 250. I recorded one, start to finish, it took an hour and thirty five minutes to get him at 249 yards.  I quit hunting after that, my nerves just couldn't take it again this week.

DeerKillers & Jesse James, You both have earned that title of Pro-hunter & I understand why you are the past & present Legend's. I can see now, Its going to be some fierce competition between you two happening these next couple of months. Maybe you all can come into team speak or the server and give some tips Smile My friends & I that I hunt with could sure use them! LOL Best of Luck & excellent hunting on your parts. Good luck tomorrow, I can't wait to see the results.

Ge Rez, if I did  that I would never win again.  You have all you need to know right now to get them at long distances, now go to the shooting range and practice practice practice.

I have tried Jesse's method and it works. I have hit them at 248 yds. Trouble is, you have to hit them, then follow and find them again. It takes at least 4, and sometimes five shots to finish them, There are no one shot kills at this distance. I have been sick for the last two weeks and didn't have the staying power it takes to hunt this way so I just concentrated on "The Legend."

Now that laptop is R.I.P. in my living room. Laughing

I don't know how I killed him at 250 yards, because like JJ said 248 - 249 yards is the max distance you can hit. Usually I wound the deer at 130 - 140 yards for two times, then after 2 shots at 249 yards he die. In the first 2 days the biggest distance I had was 150! And I was really happy!  Laughing
2 days ago, when I hunted for the last time dh05 this week, I bagged a 168 doe at 248 yards after 2 hours and 10 minutes...
When I shot her the distance said 247... it seems that the game in the trophy room says 248 (when maybe it's 247.6).
Good luck to all for next week! Smile

Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  That's a good supposition! I have tried right a few minutes ago in a target range and the max yo ucan hit is 248 - 249. Or maybe he died after the shot bounced against a rock near him!

I will say one thing about this weeks hunt, when Mickey and I were on the server, there wasn't one safe goose. Laughing
