I find the Whitetail Tundra map hard to hunt. Any pointers for someone who doesn't have much time to hunt this week? Smile  Thanks

No offense, but are you serious? Members here are falling over rares left & right. The map has nice sight distance with rolling hills. The deer are all over. I don't know what pointers I could give you, just hunt, hunt, hunt.

Good Luck

Initially start by Hunting a circle half way between the lake and the stands.
Note the places you see the most animals and look for patterns in the directions they are coming and going to find the hot spots.
Increase your coverage to include the areas you are finding most productive and develop a  hunt route that will include those areas and that can be reversed or started from anywhere on the map to allow for wind direction.
All the top hunters look for the places they beleive the deer load in most often and hunt around those areas.
Then just Hunt, Hunt, Hunt.
Good Luck.

Basic Hunting Method:

1.) Load Up The Following Gear: Tripod, Electronic Call, Rattle, All 3 Scent, Other gear whatever you feel.
2.) Pick a good open spot or on a hill on the current map.
3.) Drop The Call, Set Up the stand, rattle the horns in all directions for about 30 seconds.
4.) Spray all 3 scents about every 90 seconds. (They wear off after 90 seconds)
5.) Wait about 5 minutes, rattle again for 30 seconds,
6.) Spray all 3 scents about every 90 seconds. (They wear off after 90 seconds)
7.) Wait another 5 minutes.
6.) If nothing comes in try again in a different location.

Your calls will work for about a 400 meter circle.
Your scents work for a lot more after factoring in wind about 600-700 meters.

Hope that helps

my calls never work. If i set up the electronic caller, nothing will come to it...ever. I can usually get a walking buck to stop with the antlers, but not come to me. My calling points are low, but I kept it that way on this profile because past ones I've used that i had a high calling stat never worked either. I'm used to dh2004 and the deer just coming to the electronic call like crazy, and havn't had much time to play 2005.
