Hey there! I have been trying to get the map editor to work, but every time I try and update the terrain, even using the exact values in the tutorial, I get some extreme results. Here is a screenshot:

I have had no problems with the DH2004 editor. . .

All you need to do is alter the world height

Go to the options box on the editor interface. Ist tool on the second row.

Change the value in the world height box by backspacing it out and enter a new value, Use a value of half of that which is currently in there I.E whole number like 200.

Your world height will drop. Now continue altering the value up or down until you get the result you want.
Normally I set a value of 2 or 3 hundred before using the terain tool but you can alter it after without causing any problems, provided you do so before loading any objects..

If you lose the map, IE cant see it, press space to enter navigation mode, then press the home key on your computer keyboard.

That will return you to the map surface.

I also found if you select turbulence in the fractal drop down menu it gives you a much smoother terrain.
