LogJumper here,
Haven't been around for awhile, but would like to come back.... Just got another copy of the game and want to get it installed ASAP, but aren't sure about it any longer. Is there anything in particular I need to know to install the game on Windows 7 Pro?? I downloaded the patches and the map editor for the game; is there anything else I need??  Any and all help would be appreciated for sure.

I sure have been lost without playing the game in quite a while. and it's taken me this long to find another copy of DH2005. Will get it loaded and running as soon as I can. and get back in the swing of things, as they say.
Sorry to have run this message into the ground. Please don't get mad at me, ok?
Still am a Hunter of the First Water! LOL

Welcome back.
Dont forget to right click on the start icon and run the  game in Administrator mode and to also do the troubleshoot compatibility option as well.

Dantheman,
Thanks for the tip, but so far( fingers crossed) I haven't had any problems. The game is running pretty good.  Will have to update my map list by downloading some of the current maps when I can, though.
Might even get back into some of the hunts. Won't know about it yet unless I can build up my hunting skills again.

LogJumper here again.
Just ran into another problem: When I try to create a new weapon and need to re-save the hep file, it saves as a text file instead. How do I go about correcting this? I'm using 'Notepad2' as a text editor, not  Window's Notepad. When the editor asks to save the file, it gives me 2 choices; as a text file or all files.
Again, any help would be  appreciated. Seems as though I have forgotten quite a bit of stuff having to do with DH2005.

notepad files are text files that is why you can edit them ....
just click save .......it only asks if you click save as ,  if you make a mistake just make sure the file extension is .hep you can use
save as........ then when it asks for file name just make sure you save it as filename.hep

if DH2005 sees the .hep extension it will work in the game.

Thank  you, Lucky.
You're a life-saver. Will do as you say. Seems as if I have forgotten a lot about the game. Eventually, I plan on customizing a few gunstocks for the game, too. I will have to wait awhile for that , though.
Thanks again. One can always count on help for the game from members/staff of Hagadoo  (and a few other game sites, too)!
