B-rye,
Right click on the bottom left hand icon which is the start icon. Select open windows explorer. Open programs in C: drive. Open the Atari folder. Open the DH2005 folder. Open the Game folder. This will bring up a Custom Levels folder. This is where you place the maps that you download from Hagadoo to be used in the game. If you do not know how to download the customs maps from the site I will explain that to you also. Hope this answers half of your questions. Very Happy  Are you a registered user Question

If you have the downloaded version of the game off the internet, you probably do not have a custom level folder, therefore you will have to create one to put the custom maps into for them to show in you game, add a new folder in the game file, rename it to CustomLevels
Hope that helps a little.

Welcome B-rye

The map editor has no settings in it that can force the game to load rares. Albinos and Toons will load only on maps with Whitetail.
It does not matter what map is used, but the maps with smaller hunting areas will increase the chance of seeing the rares.

There is other rares

Fat deer (only shows in game or in trophy export file) Any map has a chance to load them
Jackalope (antlered jackrabbit (map must have jackrabbits)
Blondes have a combo normal skin mixed with albino. (whitetail only)
Branded has a SLS logo on the rump. Any species could have it.
