The passengers, those in the towers, the firemen, those in pentagon and all their friends and family...forever in our thoughts.   May something like this never happen again.

My sister was supposed to be there that morning, but thank God she had a ton of paperwork, and had to stay behind when her team went ahead... her secretary's husband was jumping bodies from the 74th floor all the way down.... he got out shortly before the first tower came down; all her team was safe......but none of us will ever forget that day, and the abject horror we felt before we found out ours were ok, and the depthless sorrow we felt for those who weren't.

Our government  has NEVER had to ask that Americans respond  or "serve" in time of crisis or need...its what we do; it's who we are. This is not a day for "service" any more than December 7th is....

It  is a day to remember those who who went to work that day, never expecting the horror that occured ; to remember those gave their all, trying to rescue the innocent victims of faceless cowards,  and remember to thank God that we live here, in the USA, STILL  the land of the free, and the home of the brave. I will never forget the world-wide outpouring  of support we got from our international friends.  It  touched hearts from Alaska to Florida, and all points between. This is what we remember, and will always be grateful that there are good people everywhere, and in the end, the good will prevail...
