Okay, so I'm getting the hang of things now.  I have learned the secret of entering the game late in the day so I'm scent free the next day.  My question is: when I end a day and camp, are new critters generated or do they just move around the map?  I've spent several days in the same campaign and seem to keep seeing the same deer over and over.  Maybe I would be better off leaving and going back in fresh.  I'm also curious if I see a biggun at the end of the day, will he still be on the map somewhere after I camp out?

I believe the deer that are spawned at the start of the hunt session will remain on the map, and will wonder while you sleep. If you shoot and wound and are tracking a big un when time runs out, then camp, good luck finding him. blood trail is gone, foot prints are gone and the big un is gone. but believe he is somewhere on the map.

If you wound a Biggun he will still be on the map along with the others and will leave a New blood trail, but why worry about  your scent unless your trying  for a really close shot Confused

If you camp over you will have exactly the same load next morning. But while you are stationary the deer will keep moving and redistribute, on the basis of the distance they would roam during the course of a night.
A deer that is dead at nightfall will still be in the same place next morning.
This will continue even if you camp over for several nights
. . .
At least one of our top hunters will keep hunting successive camp-overs if he has seen a really big rack, and keep looking untill he finds it again.

A wounded deer will continue to leave a blood trail, but since the number of tracks each deer can lay are limited , after the set number are layed down, the the last track is eliminated each time a new one is layed. If you are far enough back on a deers tracks you will actually see the track fade out and dissapear. This will tell you that your deer is still alive and moving.
So if you camp on a blood trail , unless that animal has has died within the distance of the maximum number of tracks, the tracks will be gone and you will have to go search for its trail again.

There is a glitch whereby overnight camping removes most of the spook factor from the deer ( Not sure if it is just scent or a more general effect because they dont seem to see you either unless you move).
If you stand still in the line of a deers travel, you can actually get them to walk right through you after camping overnight.

Thanks Dan.  I was reading some other posts and decided to download the Pipeline Maps.  I laughed my fanny off!!!!!!!!!!!!  I decided I wouldn't use your pipeline maps for my primary character because that's too much like cheating (I'm a Girl Scouts Leader LOL)  but I did create another hunter just for the fun of it.
