About twenty years ago there was this guy that loved deer hunting, especially with a bow.  Well when winter would come around and the snow would fly in the north and all deer hunting was over the days would become quite boring in those last few months of Jan thru March.   But One year a thought came to his head out of the blue about well istead of quit hunting keep hunting, maybe not outdoors but indoors?   Yes Indoors with a deer hunting game..... What a great Idea he thought!   Well the first thing he did was start drawing pictures of the deer and the scenery.  Then came the strategy of the game ?   Yes the Strategy.....   Well that would be simple for a hunter it would be all deer hunting strategy as in the real world.   The deers senses.....smell.....good eyesight......and their big ears......And the hunter figuring out where these deer are at what time of day, Feeding time and place,   bedding time and place,   and movement between feeding and bedding.    The wind  would come into factor,  noise, and smell.   If it was a running shot or a standing shot.  and the waapon used taking the shot. After months of preparation the copyright was sent into the U.S. copyright Office when the game was finiished.   A few moths later the copyright came to his door,   Now he thought,   Well how do I go about getting a game producer to make the game?   Send it to the biggest game company in the U.S.    yeah why not he thought and after a little research the company came into view......Hasbro?  the owner of a lot of different game Name producers.   So he sent it off to them with a cover letter after contacting their office and getting an address to send it to.     A month later the prototype came back in the mail and he was advised by Hasbro to get a game broker from a list they gave him saying they could not look at unsolicited games that way.   Well calling Up a few of the game brokers he decided to go with the one of the ones that was closest to where he lived.....Cactis?    Knowing nothing about the game world and putting his trust into their advice sent the game out to them.     After a while he recieved the game back and they had told him that a hunting game was like a golf game and there would be no potential of interest to in the gaming community.  Frustrated He decided to call up an add in ONE of the premier Outdoor Magazines that promoted games & inventions.  So he called up the company and talked to one of the game promoters which was a hunter also,  and the guy was very enthuised about the deer hunting idea,  He told him to send the prototye game to them for evaluation and no sooner was done.  A couple of weeks passed by and the producer called him.  He was really excited about the Idea but warned him that he should get a patent and not send it off to anybody without having a patent.  But it was kind of out of the question for him at the time for he was out of funds because of a recent heart ailment. I guess his dream was slowly fading at the time.    Well windows 95 came out,  and the home computer craze went into full swing.  The next year around November a new computer game was displayed playing in the walmart stores.  And to his amazement was a deer hunting game.  after months other copycats started coming out making their imputs on this new craze for hunters and outdoors people around the world.  After a few years passed he called up U.S. Atari game promoter for the Deer Hunter game,  And told them he had a copyright for a deer game he had made back in 1995 that was very similar to the game they promoted.   Well this happened in 2007 and guess what ?   Not another Deer Hunter Game was made ?   Coincedence?  Now just think if this guys game would have been produced by him,   as much as he loved deer hunting he would still be making the game under the name he had come up with.   Well there's a morale to this story.  Don't ever put your trust in an idea that somebody can take from you.    I think If it were me ...that idea would never die and the game franchise would least untiil I die........LOL   Wink                       GAS56   (Garry)
