Just wondering if I might be able to get some tips, advice and comments of making custom backgrounds for DH2005, and I remember seeing some downloads in the past, by some map makers that have produced their own custom backgrounds, but have been unable to find any of the downloads.  I know that the image must be mirrored together, and the size must be 1024 x 256, and saved as a custom object. I tried making a few, but when loaded, seemed to lose the definition of the sky at the top when blending with the sky within the game - if that makes any sense, best way I could describe it. But any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.  I've been working on a couple of Hybrid Maps with what little spare time that I've had lately, and hopefully before too long, I'll get them finished and uploaded to the site.  Thanks for all you guys do for us...

Go to files and open ..Map making custom objects.. the main header and inside go to .. Custom textures.

There are 3 or 4 zips there with custom backgrounds.
Usually the sky and clouds are deleted from the background so that the moving clouds in game fill the gap,

The backgrounds seldom have crisp definition as they are in the Fog layer and always look hazy in game compared to the background file itself.
Looking at those files may help you sort it out.

PS. Turning on the Sky Colour in the editor will make the background disappear in the editor.Unchecking the background box in the game settings will make it disappear in game.

Cheers.

Thanks Dan, I wasn't aware there were some custom backgrounds located in our download site, I'll definitely check on them.  I haven't had much time lately due to my work load to check out some of your newer Hybrid Maps, but am seeing a lot of good comments about the recent maps that have been uploaded.  With tourist season right around the corner, I anticipate less time for doing anything but work, I just hope that I get some time to finish up the maps I've been working on, then...I've got to find some time to do some fishing - suppose to be good this year.  Thanks for all your help, get back to you soon.
