Was thinking about starting making maps. Just curious how much do you get to decide when making  a map? Specifically, do you get to designate feeding/bedding areas, AND travel corridors? If not all 3, which ones?

All Three are available in the game  as part of the node system.
Personally I dont use them as the maps that are left unnoded always develop their own patterns anyway.
Nodes are part of the game and can be used by the mapmaker to direct the animals where they go, however they act on and affect the deer in a similar way to calls. A big WR buck can ignore them, being less likely to respond than a small one.
Every deer has the option to ignore a path node they cross , otherwise all the deer would end up walking nose to tail around the map.

i see what you're saying...was just thinking it would make it a little more realistic. I'm a hunter in the real world, big time, and I of course know certain areas to hunt, and certain areas to ignore for the most part.

I've always thought it would be cool to have a DH game that utilized trails, and bedding/feeding areas more than the current games do.

Funnels, saddles, field corners (which I'd assume the game does not uitilize at all) would be good options too.

dont get me wrong, Im not saying dont use them, they are a legitimate part of the map makers arsenal.

Spaze uses them a lot, they are in the stock maps and the set I posted are from the sample level folder that is the basis fo the tutorial found in the Level Editor Help files.

So if a map requires a higher level of traffic in a particular area or if you want the map to have designated feed and bedding areas, that is what they are for.

I agree with Dan it is an option I choose not to make and with experimentation I found that there is virtually no  difference between the amount , size, paths , or
feeding areas that the deer are loaded or traffic on a un-noded or noded map.
However:
There is a graphical , illustration of hotspots on the stock maps somewhere in the forums or on BGL I am not sure which but I do not know how they were determined.
