Hey guys and gals....

I have a mind boggling question about burning a Blu ray disk. The software that came with the burner keeps giving an error saying "This disk is not appendable for Power2Go, please erase it first." The included software from CyberLink. I have erased the disk and formatted it several times. It's a reusable disk, and only a 2X speed. I know this disk will write painfully slow, but that is the least of my worries at the moment. I can get faster disks later.

I have tried adding files to the disk in ISO, and bin format, and just dropping a folder of audio files in it before starting the burn. Neither way is working. I would greatly appreciate any help. I have a large collection of DVDs that can be condensed to far fewer disks if I can get it working like it should.  Confused

I can't wait to get a movie on BD to see how much better the video and sound quality are.  Very Happy

I found a free app last night ImgBurn. It worked. I think I will try Ashampoo. I used it before. Thx Rick  Smile

So, I get a BD movie in my hands just to find out my grfx system is too old to support 3D. Oh well, the main purpose I got the burner for is to reduce the number of disks sitting on shelfs.

I have been researching this a bit. I DLed an app that tests the system for compatibility playing Blu-ray disks. It came back with results saying my monitor is not HDCP compliant. I double checked this and found it is compliant. I think it may depend on how the monitor is connected to the PC.
The monitor is connected DVI to the GPU DVI.

The GPU is too old to have a HDMI connection. This is my GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130514R  The specs say it is also compliant.

ASUS VW246H Monitor.

My LCD TV is connected to my PC by a DVI to HDMI cable.

Also check on the drivers for the card some of them need a certain driver for the blu ray to work properly.

I gave up my quest for Blu ray playback for now. My GPU doesn't support it. The GTX 260 does support it. The only problem I had when deciding what GPU to get almost 3 yrs ago was the PSU requirement. That upgrade ran more than what I could afford at the time.  Rolling Eyes
