Thanks Dan, I wasn't aware there were some custom backgrounds located in our download site, I'll definitely check on them.  I haven't had much time lately due to my work load to check out some of your newer Hybrid Maps, but am seeing a lot of good comments about the recent maps that have been uploaded.  With tourist season right around the corner, I anticipate less time for doing anything but work, I just hope that I get some time to finish up the maps I've been working on, then...I've got to find some time to do some fishing - suppose to be good this year.  Thanks for all your help, get back to you soon.

PostForum: Deer Hunter 2005 Map Making   Posted: Sat Mar 03, 2012 8:26 pm   Subject: Custom Backgrounds for DH2005

Just wondering if I might be able to get some tips, advice and comments of making custom backgrounds for DH2005, and I remember seeing some downloads in the past, by some map makers that have produced their own custom backgrounds, but have been unable to find any of the downloads.  I know that the image must be mirrored together, and the size must be 1024 x 256, and saved as a custom object. I tried making a few, but when loaded, seemed to lose the definition of the sky at the top when blending with the sky within the game - if that makes any sense, best way I could describe it. But any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.  I've been working on a couple of Hybrid Maps with what little spare time that I've had lately, and hopefully before too long, I'll get them finished and uploaded to the site.  Thanks for all you guys do for us...

The first thing I would suggest checking is making sure of the correct size of the HField.png (640x640), then check to be sure you convert it to Gray Scale.  I have found through past experience that with some of the maps I have made, even though I had converted the HField to Gray Scale, I had done some fine tuning on the HField using Photo Shop, and even after rechecking to be sure it was still as Gray Scale, they just refused to work (no explanation here}.  I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you said " I went into the files and flip all images to match my level ".  If the map was working before you completed that step or made that change, then you could go back and check your saved map file (Always a good idea to save your work when you make any changes), study and check your Lever.ter file, and also the Level.ini file as well.  I save my map files quite often and I also save a back-up file separately in another folder, because sometimes it can save you from going crazy, as I have done in the past.  Don't know if this will help, maybe others can offer more suggestions, good luck and good hunting.

PostForum: Introduce yourself   Posted: Thu Nov 17, 2011 6:39 am   Subject: Good to be back

After being off the internet for over two years, and being away from map making and being able to find time to hunt, it certainly is good to finally make it back. Last time I was on, I was intently making games for Vanish's DH2007 (the mod. for DH2004), and Adam was kind enough to allow me to post some of my maps to the site.  With the new game in town, The Hunter, which I will experience when I'm able, after upgrading to a newer system (current computer just a bit weak for The Hunter), I still enjoy making maps and stalking around in DH2004, DH2005, TH2003.  The new Hybrid Maps for DH2005 are interesting, and I've had problems getting most of the maps to load after downloading the Hybrid Patch.  So I'm going to continue to enjoy DH2004,DH2007, and DH2005.  Just wanted to thank Adam and Staff Members for keeping Hagadoo's very much alive and running for all of us who love the virtual hunting world. Great to be back.
